Soccer Team Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Saint Mary's soccer team was one of nearly 900 programs from throughout the United States to earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 academic year.

According to the NSCAA, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year to qualify for the award. Last season, the Belles had a 3.45 cumulative grade point average to earn the honor. It is the eleventh consecutive year and 12th time since 2004 that the Saint Mary's soccer program has picked up the NSCAA distinction.

A total of 579 collegiate women's programs from all NCAA and NAIA divisions were recognized by the NSCAA for 2015-16. The Belles join five other MIAA women's programs on the national list this fall.
