Belles Compete at Non-Scoring MIAA Relays


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's swimming team competed at the annual MIAA Relays on Saturday, a non-scoring event which was hosted by Calvin College.

The top finish by a Belles' relay came in the three by 500 freestyle relay as Liz Palmer, Audrey Dalrymple, and Megan Price finished fifth overall with a time of 17:15.15. 

Saint Mary's took sixth place in the 200 backstroke relay, the 200 breaststroke relay, the 200 butterfly relay, and the 400 medley relay.  In the 200 butterfly relay, the group of Gen Spittler, Liz Litke, Audrey Dalrymple, and Katie Griffin was less than half of a second from fifth place.  In that same race, Katie Griffin had the fastest split time of any other anchor swimmer in the event while having the second-fastest split time of any of the forty swimmers competing in that relay. 

The Belles will begin the dual meet portion of their schedule when they host Kalamazoo next Friday, October 29 at Rolf's Aquatic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
