Belles Defeated by Brits

ALBION, Mich. - The Saint Mary's tennis team was dealt their first MIAA blemish of the season with an 8-1 loss to defending conference champion Albion on Tuesday.

Mary Catherine Faller and Kayle Sexton earned an 8-3 win at number one doubles for the lone Belles win. Faller had a strong battle at number one singles before ending on the short side of a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) final. Margaret Boden and Audrey Kiefer held their ground in their singles matches. Boden made things tough for her Albion counterpart at six singles with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 decision while Kiefer was on the wrong end of a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) score at five singles.

The Belles will have a few days off before they host Alma for a league match at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
