Saint Mary’s College is pleased to announce the 2018 McMahon Aquinas Lecture. Cardinal Peter Turkson, Prefect of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, will speak on “The Poor, the Vulnerable, and the Common Good.”

Michael Waddell, holder of the Edna and George McMahon Aquinas Chair in Philosophy, which sponsors the annual lecture, states: “Cardinal Turkson is a leading Vatican official, and one of the world’s foremost authorities on issues of social justice. We are very privileged to have him speaking on these issues at Saint Mary’s.”

The lecture will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, September 11, in O’Laughlin Auditorium (Moreau Center of the Arts) on the campus of Saint Mary’s College. The event is free and open to the public as well as members of the campus community. Refreshments will be served.
