Alma Sweeps Saint Mary's in MIAA Opener

ALMA, MI – Alma handed the Belles their first back-to-back losses of the season by sweeping Saint Mary’s 9-1 and 4-0 Saturday afternoon in the MIAA opener for the Belles.

The win lifts the Scots to 17-7 overall and 4-0 in league play while Saint Mary’s falls to 11-3 and 0-2 respectively.

Alma pounded out 13 hits in the two games while the Scots pitching staff has 14 strike outs in the games.

Ashley Peterson was a bright spot for the Belles as the freshman posted two hits in each game.
