Careers and Advanced Degrees

Upon graduation, students who earn the Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing science prepare to take the National Council of Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) for licensure as registered professional nurses. Our alumnae have become registered nurses, nursing professors, certified nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, and surgical nurses.

Our nursing graduates are emergency, oncology, pediatrics, and transplant nurses; nurse practitioners; an RN clinical nursing instructor; and pharmaceutical sales representatives for companies and institutions like Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Pharmacia Corporation, and the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Nursing graduates have pursued advanced degrees at Saint Mary's College, Duquesne University, Indiana University, New York University, and Valparaiso University. Our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program ensures you'll benefit from Saint Mary's student-centered approach to education and emphasis on relationship-based patient care at the graduate level, and emerge with a powerful degree that will help you improve lives.
