Saint Mary's College has a rich history of educating nurses with a patient-centered focus. Our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program takes it a step further—students will be equipped to create better systems of care not only for individual patients, but broader populations. With just 2-3 classes per term, the primarily online program is designed to allow you to work and complete your course assignments just about anywhere, all with the support of the Saint Mary's community.
At Saint Mary’s, you will learn from faculty members who understand the current, complex nursing field. Considerable attention is paid to your ability to think critically and communicate effectively, imperative skills in today's job market. With a unique curriculum that includes courses on data analytics and social entrepreneurship, you'll emerge ready to devise solutions to contemporary healthcare needs.
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program is available in two tracks: adult gerontology acute care (AG-ACNP) and family nurse practitioner (FNP). These two specialties will play a critical role in the future of healthcare.
Named as one of the top 5 Doctor of Nursing Practice programs in 2022. “More than providing individual patient care, students in Saint Mary's College’s DNP-Nurse Practitioner program learn to develop and implement better healthcare systems for diverse patient populations.”

In 2020, Saint Mary’s doubled down on its commitment to the Nursing Sciences by investing in the Center for Integrated Healthcare Education. This outstanding facility in the heart of campus is home to ultra-realistic clinical exam rooms and simulation labs, high-tech medical mannequins, state-of-the-art observation rooms, and expansive classrooms. In time, all health sciences will be located here providing nursing students interdisciplinary access to speech language pathology, autism studies, social work, and gerontology.
The nursing profession is changing. In addition to providing exceptional patient care, successful individuals must also develop as a strong, forward-thinking leader. It’s why the Institute of Medicine has identified the need for more nurses to earn a doctorate-level education. When you earn your DNP from Saint Mary’s, you will enter a job market eager for ambitious, dedicated professionals. Saint Mary’s College can help you develop the tools, skills, and knowledge you need to get there. With this advanced degree, you will learn to lead systemic change that improves health outcomes.
