Retreat and Composting Workshop: "Spirituality and Soil"

As we are reminded by the Ash Wednesday liturgy, God created us from the dust of the earth (Gen 2:7). Tragically, human practices have degraded and eroded the soils upon which our lives depend.

Join the Center for Spirituality and Campus Ministry at Saint Mary’s College for a workshop, "Spirituality and Soil," on Saturday, October 12. There will be morning prayer, theological reflection on our relationship to soil, instruction on composting kitchen scraps and fall leaves to build soil, Mass, and time for contemplation on the beautiful Saint Mary’s campus.

The workshop will begin at 8 a.m. at the Church of Loretto and conclude at noon. The event is free and open to the public. For more information or to register contact Kathy Guthrie at the Center for Spirituality, kguthrie@saintmarys.edu, (574) 284-4636. For a campus map, go to https://www.saintmarys.edu/campus-map
