Economics Professor Says 7 Billion People Not a Concern (WSBT-TV)

According to the United Nations, the global population reached 7 billion people this week. Richard Measell, assistant professor of economics, has watched the world's population soar in his lifetime. Since 1960 it gained a billion people nearly every 12 years. But he doesn’t think we should worry about the supply of natural resources or food or energy costs. "I sort of dismiss a lot of the doomsday projections that are out there," said Measell. "Based upon what the past has been I’m confident technology and human ingenuity will be able to provide for what the future will be."
