Fine Arts Camp for Children with Communication Disorders

This summer Saint Mary’s College will offer its first annual Character Central Fine Arts Camp for campers ages 10-15 with communication disorders.  The two one-week sessions are coed, and offered in conjunction with the College’s Fine Arts Camp. Graduate students in the College’s Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology program will serve as dedicated clinicians to campers. Female campers in the fluency camp have the option to live on campus for the week; otherwise, these are day camps. At the end of each week, campers will showcase their hard work on stage in O'Laughlin Auditorium.

Character Central Fluency Camp is offered the week of July 10. Campers will explore art, dance, theatre, music, and creative writing.  Dedicated clinicians will join campers during their sessions, as well as provide intensive therapy throughout the week.

Character Central AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Camp is offered the week of July 17. Campers will be immersed in the world of theatre, stretching their dramatic muscles while working with a dedicated clinician. Campers must be proficient or established AAC users, and able to handle routines and variability.
