Belles Finish 19th at NCAA Regional

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Saint Mary's cross country team concluded their season with a 19th place finish at the 2012 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional race at Yule Golf Course.

Fellow MIAA member Hope won the regional race with a team score of 91. Oberlin finished second with 94 points, and MIAA member Calvin finished third with 103 points. Saint Mary's had a team score of 515.

In a field of 234 runners, the Belles' Jessica Biek finished 70th overall in a time of 23:45.43 to lead Saint Mary's. Emma Baker was 87th overall on the afternoon with a 24:11.23. Julia Kenney crossed the finish line 119th in a time of 24:43.97 for the Belles.

Colette Curtis and Sarah Copi finished within a second-and-a-half of each other to wrap up the team score. Curtis was 127th with a time of 24:53.28, and Copi set a new personal record in her final race with a 24:54.68 for 129th.

Elizabeth Majewski finished 135th overall in a time of 25:08.42 in the 6k race. Allie Danhof ran a 25:18.00 to finish 144th to round out the Belles' efforts on the day.
