Belles in Sixth at Phoenix Invitational

PEORIA, Ariz. - The Saint Mary's golf team is in sixth place after day one of the talent-laden Phoenix Invitational, which is being hosted by George Fox University.

The No. 6 ranked host Bruins are in first place with a 305. Second-ranked Washington University in St. Louis is second after a round of 311. The Belles turned in a team score of 348.

George Fox's Kelsey Morrison had the low individual round of the day with a one-over par 72 at Westbrook Village Golf Course.

Paige Pollak had the Belles' low round of 83. Alexi Bown shot an 86, and Anna-Marie Gainey was also in the 80s with an 89.

Clair Boyle and Janice Heffernan both shot 90s, and Jessica Kinnick shot a 91.

The two-day tournament resumes play tomorrow, March 16, at 12:15 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
