Belles Blank Warriors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's tennis team defeated visiting Indiana Tech with straight-set wins across the board at the Eck Tennis Pavilion on Tuesday.

Kayle Sexton and Shannon Elliot took little time to set the tone with an 8-1 win at number two doubles for the Belles. Mary Catherine Faller and Audrey Kiefer followed suit with an 8-1 win at number one doubles.

Jackie Kjolhede and Audrey Kiefer then secured the win with matching 6-0, 6-0 wins at number four and five singles as the Belles picked up a pair of forfeits at six singles and three doubles.

Shannon Elliot (6-2, 6-0), Mary Catherine Faller (6-0, 6-1), and Kayle Sexton (6-4, 6-2) wrapped up the 9-0 win with victories at three singles, one singles, and two singles, respectively.

The Belles (2-1) will return to action over their spring break in Orlando, Florida, beginning with two matches on March 11 against Howard Payne and St. Francis (Ind.).
