Belles Split Results

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Saint Mary's tennis team responded with a 7-2 win over Illinois Wesleyan after falling to St. Lawrence earlier in the day by an 8-1 margin.

Against St. Lawrence, Kayle Sexton and Shannon Elliott won the Belles' sole flight of the match with an 8-4 victory at two doubles.

The Belles turned the tables on the Titans later in the day by handing Illinois Wesleyan a 7-2 defeat. Mary Catherine Faller and Audrey Kiefer were 8-4 winners at number one doubles. Jackie Kjolhede and Margaret Boden gave the Belles a second doubles win with an 8-3 victory at the number three flight. Kayle Sexton dropped just one game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 win at two singles. Kiefer picked up a second win in the match with a 6-1, 6-2 decision at five singles. Kjolhede clinched the win at four singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win for the Belles. Boden tacked on a 6-2, 6-2 decision at six singles, and Shannon Elliott was a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 winner at three singles.

Saint Mary's (6-2) will return to the Midwest to host Indiana Wesleyan on Tuesday, March 20 at 4:00 p.m.
