Belles Defeated by Hornets in Season Finale

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Saint Mary's tennis team lost by a 7-2 margin at Kalamazoo in the team's season finale on Saturday afternoon.

The Belles needed to win the match to earn a spot ahead of Calvin in the top-four only MIAA Tournament but were unable to take down the number 14 regionally-ranked Hornets.
 
Shannon Elliott and Audrey Kiefer took an 8-4 victory at number two doubles for the Belles.

In singles play, Jackie Kjolhede was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at the number five flight. Audrey Kiefer battled at number four singles before ending just short in a 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 10-6 match.

The Belles end their season 10-8 overall and 4-4 in conference play to finish in a tie for fourth in the league.
