Belles Tame Cougars

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Saint Mary's tennis team defeated St. Francis (Ind.) by a 6-3 margin on Saturday afternoon.

Hannah Nichols, Jackie Kjolhede, and Audrey Kiefer all picked up wins in singles play. Nichols took a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number two singles in her first collegiate match. Kjolhede also conceded just two games on her way to a 6-2, 6-0 win at the number four singles flight. Kiefer was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at number five singles for the Belles.

Shannon Elliott and Audrey Kiefer teamed up for a victory at number two doubles as the pair battled their way to an 8-5 win.

The Belles earned a pair of points by forfeit at number three doubles and number six singles.

Saint Mary's hosts an alumnae match next weekend before competing in the MIAA Flighted Tournament on September 27 and 28 at Hope.
