"Healthcare in the US is very fragmented, leaving many people without access to high quality and affordable care. Nurse practitioners are poised to meet this growing need."

Prior to becoming a nurse, Sue Anderson worked for several years as a
journalist. In this role she worked as a staff reporter, photojournalist, and
editor of a small rural newspaper. Her interest in helping people tell their
stories has been a consistent thread throughout her professional life. She
earned a PhD at the University of Arizona in 2011 with a focus on vulnerable
and rural populations. Her research has integrated her past experience as a
photojournalist as she uses photographic methods to make the voice of
under-represented people heard.
