Saint Mary’s Remains among “Best in the Midwest,” Says The Princeton Review

college logoAugust 6, 2015 (Notre Dame, Ind.)— Saint Mary’s College is once again among the best colleges in the Midwest, according to The Princeton Review, which released its ratings this week. The well-known education services company recommends Saint Mary’s College in its 2016 Best Colleges: Region-by-Region feature. The colleges and universities on The Princeton Review's four regional “Best” lists constitute just 25 percent of the nation's 2,500 four-year colleges.

“We chose Saint Mary’s College and the other outstanding institutions on this list primarily for their excellent academics,” said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's senior vice president and publisher. The Princeton Review editors made their selections based on data the company collected from its survey of administrators at several hundred colleges in each region, as well as its staff visits to schools over the years, and the perspectives of college counselors and advisors whose opinions the company solicits.

“We also gave careful consideration to what students enrolled at the schools reported to us about their campus experiences on our student survey for this project," Franek added. In the surveys, Saint Mary’s students described the school as a unique women's Catholic college with a strong sense of tradition, high standards for education, great faculty and staff and, an excellent sense of community.

“We are very pleased to once again be included among The Princeton Review’s ‘Best in the Midwest,’” said Saint Mary's College President Carol Ann Mooney. “Our commitment to an excellent intellectual and academic experience for our students is unwavering. Our graduates are our best recruiters. Their accomplishments speak volumes about the quality of the educational experience they received here.”

Saint Mary’s has been included on the Best in the Midwest list for 13 consecutive years.
