Maria Leontaras named Editor-in-Chief of The Observer
Saint Mary’s junior Maria Leontaras ’21 has been named 2020–21 Editor-in-Chief of the tri-campus community student newspaper The Observer. Maria is currently pursuing a self-designed major in interactive journalism where she takes classes across many disciplines including art, communication studies, and English writing.

Science alum supports student research with legacy commitment
While Saint Mary’s is known for its liberal arts tradition, the College has also established a visionary science program centered on undergraduate research and professor mentorship. One biology alumna, Elaine Rowzee ’88, plans to support the sciences at Saint Mary’s with a bequest commitment.
