Belles Finish Sixth at Calvin Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's swimming team finished in sixth place at the eleven-team Calvin Invitational on Saturday evening with a team score of 98.

Division II Grand Valley finished first, followed by Division I Bowling Green and MIAA foe Calvin.

Audrey Dalrymple had another strong showing against her Division I, II, and III counterparts at the weekend event.  The sophomore had the top individual finish for the Belles on the evening with a sixth place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:26.92.  Freshman Ellie Watson had a respectable showing in the 500 freestyle as she finished 13th as she finished in 5:21.87.

Katie Griffin, Caila Poythress, and Gen Spittler all earned spots in the C finals of their events on Saturday.  Griffin finished 20th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.48.  Poythress was 22nd in the 200 backstroke with a 2:19.50.  Spittler, meanwhile, finished 24th in the 100 butterfly with a 1:03.19.

The Belles will have over a month away from competition as their next meet will be an MIAA dual meet at Hope College on January 15 at 6:00 p.m. against the Flying Dutch.
