MIAA Academic Honor Roll 2013

Saint Mary's Student-Athletes, Teams Honored for Academic Excellence

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Nearly 50 Saint Mary's student-athletes and four varsity teams were recognized by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association for their outstanding academic achievement during the 2012-13 year.

Forty-nine student-athletes maintained at least a 3.50 grade point average while competing on one of the College's eight varsity teams during the past academic year, thus earning a spot on the MIAA's Academic Honor Roll. Twenty student-athletes this year are repeat honorees on the conference's honor roll. Sixteen first-year student-athletes were recognized on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll for the 2012-13 academic year.

Sarah Copi, Elizabeth Majewski, and Maddie Meckes were four-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll honorees while each of the College's eight varsity sports were represented by at least one team member earning recognition.

It is the twelfth consecutive year that at least 40 Saint Mary's student-athletes earned the conference's individual academic honor.

The volleyball team (3.607 GPA), basketball team (3.411 GPA), soccer team (3.331 GPA), and cross country team (3.305 GPA) all earned the MIAA Team GPA Award for maintaining at least a 3.300 cumulative GPA for the entire academic year. Moreover, each of the College's eight varsity teams had better than a 3.00 cumulative grade point average in 2012-13.
