Murphy Named MIAA Player of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary's forward Kelley Murphy its Player of the Week in women's basketball for games played through January 28.

Murphy, a senior from Olathe, Kan. (Kansas City Notre Dame de Sion HS), averaged 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds as the Belles split a pair of MIAA games. She had nine points and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds in leading Saint Mary's to a 59-48 win over Trine, then added 20 points, six rebounds and three steals in a 77-73 loss to Hope.

Murphy is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and fifth time in her career.
