Paul Named MIAA Co-Player of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s forward Ariana Paul and Albion guard Brett deBear its Players of the Week in women’s basketball for games played through Dec. 9.

Paul, a sophomore from Valparaiso, Ind. (Valparaiso HS), averaged 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds as the Belles split a pair of MIAA games. She had 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 66-57 win over Kalamazoo, then scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds and three steals in a 67-61 loss to Alma. Paul shot 54 percent (15 of 28) from the field for the week and grabbed 11 offensive rebounds, seven of them against the Scots.

Her 21 points and 11 rebounds against Alma were both career-highs. She is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
