The Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award was established to recognize undergraduate students of color who best exemplify academic and athletic achievement while also exhibiting community activism.

Bias, a 2014 Saint Mary’s graduate who earned her degree in biology, was one of sixteen student-athletes from across the country to be named to the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Basketball Second Team. She was the only NCAA Division III women’s basketball player to be named to either the First or Second Team for the award.
