Paul Named MIAA Player of the Week

FREELAND, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Saint Mary’s forward Ariana Paul its Player of the Week in women’s basketball for games played through November 23.

ariana paul bballPaul, a senior from Valparaiso, Ind. (Valparaiso HS), averaged 15.7 points and 12.3 rebounds in three games for the week. She became the first player in Saint Mary’s history to score at least 20 points and grab 20 rebounds in a single game with a 20-point/20-rebound performance in a 100-84 loss to North Central, Ill., then came back with another double-double the next night with 12 points and 11 boards in a 79-36 win over Trinity International, Ill. Paul shot 56 percent from the field (22 of 39) for the week.

She is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time this season and third time in her career.
