Belles Take 28th at Brooks Invitational

WINNECONNE, Wis. - The Saint Mary's cross country team finished 28th at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational.

The Belles had a team score of 751 on the day. Fellow MIAA member and sixth-ranked Calvin won the event with a team score of 91.

Saint Mary's was paced by Jessica Biek. Her time of 23:31.50 gave her 74th place in a field of 500 runners. Samee Chittenden finished 222nd with a 24:52.30 for a new collegiate 6k personal record. Emma Baker ran a 24:56.30 to finish 229th.

Elizabeth Majewski finished 240th on the day with a time of 25:03.17. Julia Kenney wrapped up the team score by running a 25:15.84 for 266th place. Sarah Copi crossed the finish line in a time of 25:22.52 (271st). Allie Danhof ran a 25:34.86 (293rd) for the Belles in the race. Colette Curtis also turned in a sub-26 minute 6k with a 25:35.20 (295th).

Katelyn Dunn ran a 26:00.78 to finish 324th. Dani Haydell and Sarah Lipinski finished within just a few seconds of one another as Haydell ran a 26:13.94 (342nd) while Lipinski ran a 26:19.90 (349th). Holly Higdon finished 445th with a 28:17.00, and Miranda Bronicki was 450th with a 28:38.86.

Saint Mary's will have next weekend off to prepare for the MIAA Championship race, which will be hosted by Albion on Saturday, October 27 at noon.
