Belles Conclude Season at NCAA Regional

Results

• Katie Glenn led the Belles with a 24:18.3 and finished 111th overall.
• Adele Edmonds, Sarah Allen, Emily Blank, and Riley Swope also scored.
• Blank posted her second PR in as many races with a 24-second improvement upon her 6k time.

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - The Saint Mary's cross country team concluded their 2018 season with a 26th place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional race on Saturday.

Baldwin Wallace won the team title and earned an automatic spot at the NCAA Championship race with a team score of 114. Allegheny joined Baldwin Wallace with an automatic spot at nationals with a 121 for second place. Oberlin was narrowly edged out for third place (124) while fellow MIAA members Hope (138) and Calvin (141) rounded out the top five. The Belles posted a team score of 692 and finished ahead of fellow conference members Kalamazoo, Alma, and Olivet.

Katie Glenn paced the Belles on Saturday with a time of 24:18.3 to finish 111th overall while earning 109 points. Adele Edmonds was not far off of Glenn's pace as the senior crossed the finish line in 24:26.5 for 119th place and 116 points. Sarah Allen was the next Saint Mary's runner to complete the 6k course as she posted a 25:18.0 for 150th place overall and 144 points.

Emily Blank tallied her second consecutive 6k personal record time as the freshman ran a 25:33.3 while finishing 159th and picking up 153 points. Her time was a 24-second improvement from the MIAA Championship time two weeks ago. Classmate Riley Swope wrapped up the team score after running a 26:07.5 for 177th place and 170 points.

Gabby Russell and Shanan Hamilton also competed for the Belles. Russell turned in a time of 26:39.6 for 190th place. Hamilton had a 27:26.8 for 207th place overall.
