Belles Claim Second at Anderson Invitational

ANDERSON, Ind. - The 15th ranked Saint Mary's golf team took second place at a rain-shortened Anderson University Invitational on Sunday at Killbuck Golf Course.

The event was shortened to 27 holes after sustained rains made the course unplayable. No. 2 DePauw won the event with a 27-hole score of 454. Saint Mary's was credited with a 481 (323-158) while No. 24 Olivet finished third with a 487.

Amanda Graham finished in third place overall with a 38 (76--114) on Sunday to earn all-tournament team honors. Janice Heffernan was one stroke behind Graham's Sunday score with a 39 (83--122). Justine Bresnahan shot a 40 (84--124), and Sammie Averill turned in a 41 (84--125) on Sunday for the team's four counted scores. Claire Boyle was the Belles' fifth scoring-eligible golfer and had a 43 (80--123).

Paige Pollak was playing as an individual and had a nine-hole score of 39 (80--119).

The Belles will be back in action in two weeks when they host the O'Brien National Invitational at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame.
