Belles Sit in Third at Olivet Labor Day Tee-Off

MARSHALL, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team is in third place after day one of the Olivet Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament.

Washington University in St. Louis is first after day one with a team score of 308 at the Medalist Golf Club. Host Olivet is second with a 315, and the Belles are third after a 338 on Saturday. Olivia Lugar (Washington University-St. Louis) and Theresa Damico (Olivet) tied for the low round of the day with matching 74s.

Consistency was the name of the game for the Belles on Saturday. Paige Pollak and Ali Mahoney each turned in scores of 81 to lead Saint Mary's while tying for 11th individually. Pollak had a pair of birdies on the day while tying for third in par five scoring. Mahoney recorded nine pars in the first round of her collegiate career.

Janice Heffernan, Alexi Bown, and Sammie Averill all shot 88s on the day to round out the Belles' scoring efforts while also all tying for 27th place individually. As a team, the Belles were second in the total number of pars tallied on day one of the tournament.

Rachel Kim competed as an individual and shot a 91 to hold a share of 43rd place going into Sunday's round.

The second round of play begins with a shotgun start on Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
