Trio of Belles Earn All-American Scholar Honors

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - For the first time in program history, three Saint Mary's golfers have earned Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar honors in the same year. Janice Heffernan, Katie Zielinski, and Kelsey Conkright were among the 758 women's collegiate golfers recognized by the WGCA for the 2014-15 academic year as All-American Scholars.

To be named to the list, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average for the entirety of their collegiate career and be of high moral character and in good standing at the college making the nomination. Additionally, Division III student-athletes must have participated in a minimum of 12 rounds and hold an adjusted scoring average of 95.00 or less.

Heffernan posted an 84.2 scoring average during her senior year while competing in 19 rounds of play. Zielinski had a 90.8 scoring average during her junior season after participating in 20 rounds for the Belles. Conkright turned in a 94.7 scoring average in her first season with the Belles while playing in 18 rounds during the 2014-15 academic year.

For Heffernan, the honor was the fourth of her career. Zielinski and Conkright, meanwhile, were named to the list for the first time in their careers.
