Belles Finish Third at Opening Day of Conference Finale

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team shot a 327 to finish in third place at day one of the MIAA End of Season Weekend Jamboree on Friday.

Hope won the round with a conference-record 299. Olivet placed second with a 323. The Belles were two strokes ahead of fourth-place Trine. Hope's Nicole Meyer and Britni Gielow tied for medalist honors with one-over 73s.

Ali Mahoney led the Belles with an 80 to finish eight overall. Lauren Read and Courtney Carlson had matching scores of 82 to tie for 15th. Taylor Kehoe wrapped up the team score with an 83 (t-18th). Kaitlyn Gray was the fifth Belle in the lineup and shot an 88 (t-30th).

Julia McAlindon fired an 81 to lead all players competing as individuals while tying for ninth place. Kaitlyn Cartone carded an 83 to tie for 18th overall.

The Belles wrap up their fall season tomorrow at day two of the MIAA End of Season Weekend Jamboree at Bedford Valley Golf Club. The round begins at 10:00 a.m.
