Belles Win Second MIAA Jamboree

GRANGER, Ind. - The Saint Mary's golf team shot a 329 to edge out Hope by three strokes to win the second MIAA Jamboree of the season on Saturday at Knollwood Country Club.

The Belles' own Taylor Kehoe was the medalist of the round with a five-over par 77. The sophomore had three birdies and nine pars while leading the field in par five scoring. Lauren Read finished a stroke back with a 78 to take second place individually. She also carded three birdies while posting eight pars with an even scoring average on par five holes.

Courtney Carlson and Kaitlyn Gray had matching rounds of 87 to tie for 12th place while wrapping up the team score. Carlson had seven pars and was tied for seventh in par five scoring. Gray had a birdie with six pars and was among the top 13 golfers in both par four and par five scoring on the day. Ali Mahoney was the fifth golfer in the lineup for the Belles and shot a 90 to tie for 17th overall.

Julia McAlindon led all the golfers competing as individuals in the round with an 85 to finish 10th overall. She had 10 pars to finish one par behind the leader of the round. Kaitlyn Cartone had an 89 to finish tied for 15th while carding a birdie. Emily Besler turned in a 93 to hold a share of 25th place, and Courtney Quinlan had a 94 to tie for 28th. Lydia Lorenc shot a 97 to tie for 36th. Isabella Speedon rounded out the Saint Mary's efforts with a 107 to tie for 50th.

The Belles travel to Saugatuck, Michigan for the third MIAA Jamboree on Tuesday, September 28 as Hope hosts the round at the Ravines Golf Club.
