Belles Finish Second, Stay Within Striking Distance

SAUGATUCK, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team posted a 330 and finished four strokes behind host Hope at the second of three 18-hole rounds which will determine the MIAA's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championships.

Hope shot a team score of 326 to move three strokes ahead of the Belles heading into the final round of competition on Saturday. Olivet placed third with a 335. Trine was fourth with a 356.

The Belles' Taylor Kehoe was the round medalist after firing a four-over par 76. Ali Mahoney was tied for sixth overall after turning in a score of 82 on Friday. Lauren Read shot an 85 to finish tied for tenth individually. Kaitlyn Cartone and Kaitlyn Gray both carded scores of 87 for the Belles to finish tied for 14th.

The final 18-hole round of the conference event will begin three hours earlier than originally scheduled due to poor weather forecasts. Saturday's round will begin at approximately 11:10 a.m. at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck, Michigan.
