Belles Win Heidelberg Fall Invite

Day Two Results

  • The Belles won the Heidelberg Fall Invitational by 22 strokes.
  • Hunter Kehoe finished second overall with a 78 on Sunday for a two-day score of 158.
  • Summer Stillson, Lauren Read, and Taylor Kehoe all finished in the top 13 of the field.

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Saint Mary's golf team claimed their second tournament title of the fall with a first place finish at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club.

The Belles shot a 327 on Sunday and won the tournament with a two-day score of 661. NAIA member Grace was second with a cumulative score of 683. Ohio Northern placed third with a 684 in the two-day event. Ohio Northern's Lydia Cranmer was the tournament medalist with a 157 (82-75).

Hunter Kehoe was a stroke behind Cranmer in the final individual standings as the freshman placed second with a 158 after firing a 78 on Sunday. Summer Stillson cut a stroke off of her score from Saturday with an 81 today to finish third overall (163).

Lauren Read placed sixth overall with a 168 after carding an 83 on Sunday. Taylor Kehoe wrapped up the team score and the tournament title with an 85 on Sunday to finish tied for 11th overall (172). Kelsey Conkright made a move up the leaderboard after cutting eight strokes off of Saturday's score for an 88 on Sunday and a share of 34th (184) as the Belles' fifth player in the official lineup.

Courtney Quinlan and Libby Clark both competed as individuals on the weekend. Quinlan turned in an 86 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 28th (180). Clark had an 11-stroke improvement from yesterday's score with a 90 on Sunday to finish tied for 45th place individually (191).

The Belles begin the MIAA portion of their fall season this Thursday, September 21 when they travel to the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan for the first of six conference rounds of play. The jamboree begins at 1:00 p.m.
