Belles Conclude Season with Fourth Place Finish

SAUGATUCK, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team shot a 345 to finish fourth at the final MIAA NCAA automatic qualifying round of the season on Saturday.

Hope won the event and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship with a 319 on Saturday. The Flying Dutch ended the three rounds of conference play with a total score of 973. Olivet finished second in the round with a 336 and second overall with a three-round score of 988. The Belles had a three-round score of 1,058.

Katie Zielinski led the Belles with an 84 on Saturday to finish eighth among the 20 golfers competing from the four conference schools. Courtney Carlson was a stroke behind with an 85 for ninth place overall.

Kaitlyn Cartone turned in an 86 for the tenth-best finish of the day. Janice Heffernan wrapped up a successful career for the Belles with a 90 on Saturday to finish tied for 13th overall.

Kelsey Conkright was the Belles' fifth scoring-eligible golfer and shot a 96 to finish in a tie for 18th among the field of competing players.

Lydia Lorenc played the round as an individual and shot a 104 on the day.
