Belles Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Squad List

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - For the second consecutive year, the Saint Mary's lacrosse team has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as an Academic Honor Squad.

Lacrosse teamThe Belles are one of 129 NCAA Division III programs and 264 total women's teams from NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA to earn the distinction for the 2015 season. In order to be an Academic Honor Squad, a team must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

"It is an honor to be recognized by the IWLCA with this award," said head coach Amy Long. "Our student-athletes continue to achieve their academic goals, and I am very proud of our team's continued commitment and excellence in the classroom."

Additionally, Saint Mary's was one of six MIAA teams to be named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad list for the 2015 season.
