Singler, Theisen Sweep MIAA Player of the Week Honors

FREELAND, Mich. - Mary Singler and Clare Theisen swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse player of the week honors for games played from April 24-30.

Singler, a freshman midfielder, was selected as the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring nine goals and collecting three assists as the Belles clinched second place in the conference standings. She led all players in goal scoring in victories against Hope and Adrian while also picking up seven ground balls and pulling down three draw controls.

Theisen, a junior midfielder, was named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week after tallying 14 ground balls, 13 draw controls, three goals, four assists, and eight caused turnovers. In a key win over Hope, she matched the program records of 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. She then posted game-highs of four assists and nine draw controls at Adrian.

It is the second time this season each of the student-athletes has received their respective MIAA Player of the Week honor.
