Theisen Tabbed MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

FREELAND, Mich. - Saint Mary's junior Clare Theisen has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 10-16.

A midfielder and team co-captain, she led the Belles in ground balls and caused turnovers for the week. Against Calvin, she posted a game-highs of seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. She added four caused turnovers in a 13-10 win at Alma, and registered a team-best six ground balls in a 11-10 win at Albion. In three games, she had eight draw controls and scored a goal in each contest.

It is the second Defensive Player of the Week honor and third MIAA Player of the Week recognition of Theisen's career.
