Leonard, Doyle Sweep MIAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors

FREELAND, Mich. - Junior Rachael Leonard and freshman Erin Doyle were named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Leonard, a defender from Hendersonville, Tennessee, had five ground balls and caused a turnover in a home win over Kalamazoo on Wednesday. She then set a new program record for caused turnovers in a game with eight in a win over Hope while adding seven ground balls as the Belles moved to 5-0 in conference play.

Doyle, a midfielder from Niskayuna, New York, scored seven goals, caused three turnovers, and picked up five ground balls in the team's victory over Kalamazoo last Wednesday. Doyle added three goals, an assist, five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and two draw controls in an overtime victory over Hope on Saturday.

The MIAA Defensive Player of the Week honor is the second in Leonard's career while the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week accolade is the third of the season for Doyle.
