Meet Our Alumnae

Saint Mary’s women are amazing! They’re articulate, smart, and driven. They lean in to their passions with care and compassion, and face difficult endeavors with strong critical-thinking skills. The world sees them as well-rounded women who lead with empathy and integrity. We see them as Belles — strong symbols of what Saint Mary’s stands for and incredible examples of how we prepare our students to discover themselves and their place in the world.

Interdisciplinary Self-Designed Major - ISDM In high school, my choral director Lisa Faletto took us on a field trip to the Women's Choral Festival at Saint Mary's in 2017. I remember how we all dressed in our favorite dresses and dress coats and paraded around campus in stubby heels as we excitedly waited to perform. When we did, we were greeted by Dr. Nancy Menk who then handed us over to a Bulgarian professor that had flown in. We were so excited and eager to learn and Saint Mary's easily matched it without hesitation. I knew that as I looked at the St. Mary statue on The Island, then covered in crisp golden leaves due to the November fall, that one day I would be a Belle. And I think younger me would be so excited to hear that I am graduating from the very college we fell in love with so long ago. Makayla Hernandez ’25 Interdisciplinary Self-Designed Major - ISDM
