Advancement Update
By HOLLY JOHNSON
This summer marked an extraordinary milestone in the history of Saint Mary’s College as we officially launched the public phase of our comprehensive campaign, Ring Out Ring True. The energy surrounding our campaign launch, combined with the joy of welcoming hundreds of alumnae home for Reunion, served as a powerful reminder of what makes Saint Mary’s so special: a community united by shared values and a deep commitment to ensuring future generations of women have access to the same transformative experience.
As I complete my fifth year at Saint Mary’s, I feel incredibly honored to serve this remarkable community. Witnessing the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers, the commitment of our faculty and staff, and the enduring spirit of our alumnae during this historic moment has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

This milestone reflects the collective efforts of so many members of the Saint Mary’s community. I am particularly grateful for the leadership of our Campaign Tri-Chairs Sarah Belanger Earley ’71, Jennifer Mathile Prikkel ’95, and Kimmi Martin Troy ’00, along with Board Chair Maureen Karnatz Smith ’85, whose steadfast commitment to Saint Mary’s has inspired others to join in shaping the College’s future. Heartfelt thanks also go to the other members of our Campaign Executive Committee: Susan Scherer Calandra ’72, Frances Bardello Craig ’64, Gretchen Ann Flicker ’93, Mary McEnery Harding ’84, Patti Wiedner Purcell ’69, Victoria Wilbraham Taylor ’15, and Beth Lichtenfels Veihmeyer ’77, whose leadership and generosity have helped bring this vision to life.
I am equally grateful to the members of our Advancement Division, whose creativity and tireless work over many months made this moment possible. Together, they exemplify the collaborative spirit that continues to propel Saint Mary’s forward.
Throughout Reunion weekend, the campus was filled with stories of connection and gratitude. Whether reconnecting with classmates or seeing the remarkable ways our campus continues to evolve, alumnae once again demonstrated that the Saint Mary’s spirit only grows stronger with time. Thank you to everyone who returned to campus and celebrated this exciting new chapter with us.
As we move into the public phase of the campaign, there are many ways to engage with Saint Mary’s. In the coming months, you will see expanded regional programming, new volunteer opportunities, gift matching opportunities, and additional ways to connect with fellow alumnae through events, mentorship, and lifelong learning.
Every gift, every act of service, and every shared story helps carry Saint Mary’s forward and strengthens the future of the College. Whether you choose to mentor a student, attend an event, or make a gift, your engagement matters. Together, we will build on nearly two centuries of excellence and ensure that future generations of Belles continue to thrive.
Thank you for all the ways you continue to Ring Out and carry Saint Mary’s College forward. I look forward to seeing you on campus or at an event soon! ||
