Business Department Presents Annual Awards to Students and an Alumna

October 4, 2016 (Notre Dame, Ind.) — The Department of Business Administration and Economics’ Accounting Awards presented five students and an alumna with Accounting Awards during a ceremony on Monday, September 19.

Accounting Students
  • Delaney Gilbert ’18 – Bridget Anderson/KPMG Award.  This is a $2,000 award given to an accounting junior for excellence in the Principles of Accounting sequence. 
  • Kaileigh Moore ’17 – Deloitte Award.  This is a $1,000 award given to an accounting senior for excellence in Intermediate Accounting.
  • Bridget Clare ’17 – Ernst & Young Award.  This is a $1,000 award given to the accounting senior judged most likely to succeed in public accounting.
  • Yiyue Liu ’17  – Crowe Horwath Award.  This is a $1,000 award given to an accounting senior for outstanding achievement in Personal and Corporate Tax.
  • Mary Claire Burchett ’17  – PricewaterhouseCoopers Award.  This is a $1,000 award given to an accounting senior for excellence in accounting leadership.

The Department of Business Administration and Economics’ Accounting Awards also presented the Outstanding Alumna in Accounting Award to Jody Padar ’94, CEO and Principal of the New Vision CPA Group, a public accounting firm based in the Chicago area.

Jody not only leads New Vision CPA Group, but is also a highly sought after speaker and thought leader in the tax and accounting profession. She is the author of The Radical CPA: New Rules for the Future-Ready Firm, a book that sparked a movement within the accounting profession focusing on four tenets: cloud technology, social business, value pricing, and process.
