Saint Mary's Congratulates Incoming Class of 2023 on College Acceptance Day

May 1, 2019 (Notre Dame, Ind.) — After receiving a record number of applicants, Saint Mary’s College officially welcomes its Class of 2023 on National College Acceptance Day.

Applications to Saint Mary’s College, the Catholic, women’s, liberal arts college in Notre Dame, Ind., were up 9.5% this year, an increase of 11% from 2017. Applicants represented 47 states and 19 countries from the continents of Asia, South America and Africa.

“We are challenging the norms about what small colleges can offer students and continue to tailor our programs, partnerships and classes to meet the needs of today’s women,” said Interim President Nancy Nekvasil. “We are also blessed to have an extremely active alumnae network and donors who created a healthy $200 million endowment to support our mission of small, professor-taught classes and strong academics.”

Nekvasil pointed to the College’s recently-inked partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), expanded STEM programs, study abroad options, Five Year Dual Degree Engineering Program and continued emphasis on small class sizes as some of the reasons more young women are selecting Saint Mary’s College.  The College has been named among the top 100 institutions on the annual U.S. News & World Report’s Best National Liberal Arts Colleges list for more than a decade.
