Saint Mary’s, 1st Source Sponsor 3rd Annual Engaging Women Conference

April 17, 2017 (Notre Dame, IN) — The Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) at Saint Mary’s College, in partnership with 1st Source Bank, presents the third annual THRIVE: Engaging Women Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 in the Student Center at Saint Mary’s College. The regional event focuses on how women can become more effective leaders in the workplace and in their communities.

Registration is now open and the $60 fee covers all conference activities including a continental breakfast and lunch. The conference has sold out the last two years. Register here.

WEI Project Director Joan McClendon says the conference is designed to encourage women to influence others, using the power of their own personal stories to connect and engage with those they serve.

“The Engaging Women Conference helps women to accelerate growth and deepen their impact, in both their professional and personal lives,” McClendon said. “The event is designed to energize, inspire, and empower women, creating positive energy and momentum throughout the community.”

Key speakers at the conference include Rene Syler, former co-anchor of “The Early Show” on CBS, Stephanie Foster, a partner at Smash Strategies, a firm dedicated to advising businesses, foundations, and philanthropists who want to leverage their commitment to women and girls, and Jan Cervelli, president of Saint Mary’s College.

“The Engaging Women Conference offers equal parts inspiration and information in a supportive environment that helps women succeed,” said President Cervelli. “I’m excited to be among so many accomplished women working together to maximize our talents to better serve our colleagues and our communities.”

Over 20 breakout sessions will focus on career development, important financial skills for women professionals, how to practice self-care, and how to care for an aging loved one, among other topics.

“1st Source Bank is excited to again partner with Saint Mary’s to bring Engaging Women 2017 to our community,” said Julianna Herring, 1st Source vice president and business banker. “Through this conference and the THRIVE program, 1st Source supports women with educational and networking opportunities.”
