Saint Mary’s College invites alumna Lorri White ’87 as 2017 Shannon Scholar

March 14, 2017 (Notre Dame, Ind.) — Saint Mary’s College welcomes back alumna Lorri White ’87 as its Shannon Scholar for spring 2017. She will be on campus March 22-24, 2017 to share her business expertise and career path with students, and meet with faculty and administrators.  

While on campus as a Shannon Scholar, White will be interacting with faculty and students in the chemistry department and environmental studies classes. She will also meet with College administrators, faculty, and student clubs. White will attend “Why We Play,” a panel discussion composed of current student-athletes about the importance of athletics in their lives.  

About Lorri White:

  • Saint Mary’s College graduate, Class of 1987 (presidential scholar, majored in chemistry)
  • Member of the basketball and softball teams during her time at Saint Mary’s
  • As an entrepreneur, she started her first company, Blue 292 in 1997 accruing investments of $20 million in the company
  • In 2001, she co-founded Keika Ventures, LLC., a women-owned environmental consulting company

Keika Ventures is a women-owned business with a global presence and a client base spanning over 100 countries and all seven continents, conducting business in multiple languages. White describes her company as providing three different services. First, Keika Ventures provides training via the Internet on how to ship hazardous materials abroad. Second, the company ships equipment and materials abroad for projects. And third, the company provides analytical testing services for soil, water, air, food, etc. and consultations. 

About the Shannon Scholars Program: The Shannon Scholars Program, established by a generous gift from Professor William N. Shannon and his wife Bonnie, is a program at Saint Mary's College that invites exceptional alumnae back to campus to share their experiences with students, faculty, staff, and the local community.
