Saint Mary’s ranked as a “Best Value” Liberal Arts College

September 12, 2017 (Notre Dame, Ind.) — Saint Mary’s College is ranked as the 49th Best Value National Liberal Arts College in the US News & World Report 2018 Best College Rankings released today.

“We’re proud to offer young women a comprehensive education that focuses on academic, social and spiritual development,” Saint Mary’s President Jan Cervelli says. “The personal connections that our students develop with each other and their mentorship relationships with faculty and alumnae deepen their educational experience.”

The combination of educational quality and affordability leads to professional success, with 91 percent of graduates in full-time employment, service work or graduate school in their first year out of Saint Mary’s. In addition to that, President Cervelli emphasizes the importance Saint Mary’s places on developing a sense of purpose.

“We want to help students discover who they want to be in addition to what they want to do,” President Cervelli says. “Our success in that effort is evident in the fact that two-thirds of our graduates describe their first job as part of their ‘career.’ They’re finding fulfillment as well as employment, and that’s the true measure of the value of a college education.”

In the US News & World Report rankings, Saint Mary’s was listed among Most Students Studying Abroad (50 percent), placed 84th in High School Counselors’ Top College Picks of National Liberal Arts Colleges and ranked 101st overall among National Liberal Arts Colleges.
