Young, Raymer Sweep MIAA Softball Player of the Week Honors

FREELAND, Mich. - Cassie Young and Morgan Raymer swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball player of the week honors for games played through April 9.

Young, a junior outfielder, was named MIAA Position Player of the Week after posting a .429 batting average on the week while boasting a 1.000 slugging percentage. She had two doubles, three triples, five runs scored, and seven RBI as the Belles went 4-0 in a pair of conference doubleheaders. In the outfield, she had a 1.000 fielding percentage with five putouts.

Raymer, a junior pitcher, was selected as the MIAA Pitcher of the Week after a 3-0 week in the circle with a complete game shutout and a shared shutout. In 15.0 innings of work, she did not allow a run and surrendered just six hits while striking out 12. She added a .308 batting average with a pair of doubles, two runs, and an RBI.

It is the second MIAA player of the week honor for each of the two players.
