Telephone User Guide



Buttons on Your Phone

  • release button Release - This button is used to hang up or disconnect
  • hold button Hold - This button is used to put someone on hold. To take a call off hold, press the line button next to the flashing indicator
  • handsfree/mute button Handsfree/Mute (only on speakerphone models) - A feature you can use to place calls without lifting the handset. Mute turns off the microphone while you are on an active call.
  • Volume Bar Volume Control Bar – The volume control bar is used to adjust the volume of the handset, the handsfree speaker, or the ringer.

Transfering Calls

  1. To transfer a call to a third party, press Conf/Trans
  2. Listen for special dial tone, dial third party (note: if busy, no answer or wrong number – press Rls then press line key next to flashing indicator)
  3. Party answers, Announce Call
  4. Press Conf/Trans, then press Rls to complete the transfer (note: you cannot transfer two outgoing calls)

Threeway Conversation

  1. To add a third party, with the caller on the line, press Conf/Trans
  2. Listen for special dial tone, dial third party (note: if busy, no answer or wrong number – press Rls then press line key next to flashing indicator)
  3. Party answers, press Conf/Trans
  4. Begin conversation

Consultation Hold

To Make a Consultation Call

  1. To hold call and place a consultation call, press Conf/Trans
  2. Listen for special dial tone, dial third party
  3. Party answers, converse (note: if busy, no answer or wrong number – press Rls then press line key next to flashing indicator)

To Return to Original Call

  1. Called party hangs up, press the line button next to the flashing indicator
  2. Resume conversation (note: the other party is disconnected)

Automatic Callback

To Activate Automatic Callback

  1. To be called back when a busy phone becomes free
  2. Hear busy tone
  3. Press Ring Again
  4. Hang Up

When Called Back

  1. Listen for call back ring
  2. Lift Handset
  3. Press Ring Again
  4. Hear ringing – wait for answer

To Cancel Automatic Callback

  1. Press Ring Again

Call Forwarding

To Activate Call Forward

  1. Without lifting the handset, press Call Forward
  2. Dial the number where you wish your calls to be forwarded
  3. Press Call Forward (note: when call forwarding is activated, your phone may still be used to originate other calls)

To Cancel Call Forward

  1. Press Call Forward

Directed Call Pickup

To answer a Specific phone ringing in your pickup group

  1. Lift the handset
  2. Press Directed Call Pickup
  3. Dial extension number you wish to answer
  4. Begin converstation

Autodial

To Program an Auto Dial Number

  1. Without lifting the handset, press an Auto Dial key
  2. Enter the number to be stored
  3. Press the (flashing) Auto Dial key

To Call an Auto Dial Number

  1. Lift the handset
  2. Press the Auto Dial key

Last Number Redial

  1. Press line key of the line used to make last call
  2. Press # # (twice)

Access Messages

  1. Lift handset
  2. Press Msg Waiting
  3. When prompted, enter your password

Personal Speed Dial

To Program a Speed Dial Number

  1. Without lifting the handset, press the Speed Dial key
  2. Enter the 1-digit speed dial Code you wish to program (0-9)
  3. Enter the Telephone Number, including 9 + 1 + area code if needed
  4. Press the Speed Dial key to save the entry

To Place a Speed Dial Call

  1. Lift the handset or press the handsfree key
  2. Press the Speed Dial key
  3. Dial the 1-digit speed dial Code (0-9)

Program Your Phone

The Program key will allow you to customize certain characteristics of your phone such as:

  • Volume Adjustment
  • Time and Date Set
  • Time and Date Format
  • Call Timer
  • Display Language
