Saint Mary’s Students Gather to Help “Jake”

Interprofessional Education (IPE) is becoming the heartbeat of Saint Mary’s growing Center for Integrated Healthcare Education. This month, students from five disciplines stepped into a real-world challenge as they worked together to build a return-to-school plan for Jake, a 12-year-old patient recovering from a traumatic brain injury (TBI). New Partnership Between Saint Mary’s and Beacon Health System

Saint Mary’s College and Beacon Health System have enjoyed a long-standing collaboration in nursing clinical education. This week, a new partnership between the two institutions begins, but instead of SMC nursing students traveling to a hospital or clinic for hands-on training, this time Beacon’s care team comes to Saint Mary’s campus.

July 14, 2023 Inaugural Healthcare Summer Institute Proves Popular Spots for Saint Mary’s new Healthcare Summer Institute filled up within weeks of opening. This new pre-college program taps into the field of nursing utilizing Saint Mary’s state-of-the-art Center for Integrated Healthcare Education (CIHE). June 15, 2022 A New Nursing Program at Saint Mary's College Earlier this year, the Indiana State Board of Nursing approved the College’s application to offer a direct entry Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), a relatively new pathway with only 62 programs currently being offered in the United States. Saint Mary’s is the first in Indiana to offer such a direct-entry graduate program for nurses, allowing current undergraduates to continue their studies and graduate with an RN-MSN. November 8, 2021 Expansion Promises Strong Future for Health Services Saint Mary’s Department of Nursing Science has long been praised for its high level of education and training. March 25, 2021 Nursing Sciences Earn Top Ranking Academic reputation, student success and program depth have earned Saint Mary's Department of Nursing Science a third-best ranking among nursing schools in Indiana. The nursing program also ranks in the top 3% of the best nursing schools in the country, according to Nursing Schools Almanac. Only Indiana University and Purdue University rank higher among nursing programs in the state. October 30, 2020 Building The Future to Scale Back in June, I mentioned that I would be living on campus in Riedinger House for my first several months at the College. I was amused that whenever I told someone this, they asked, “How does it feel to be in that miniature house?” And I had to admit: I hadn’t really noticed. October 21, 2020 Saint Mary’s College Receives $1 Million Grant Lilly Endowment has awarded the College a $1 million grant to move forward on a new Center for Integrated Healthcare Education on campus.
