Janice Cervelli grew up near the St. Joseph River in South Bend, taking hikes along the river bank, catching tadpoles and swimming in Pinhook Park lagoon. Those childhood experiences helped form her adult career as a landscape architect, educator and university administrator. Cervelli will be returning to her South Bend roots in June, when she becomes president of Saint Mary's College. "It is the place and time for me. I believe in Saint Mary's so strongly," Cervelli said during a telephone interview from Tucson, where she's dean of the College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture. Saint Mary’s College will hold its annual World Cinema Festival Monday, March 21 through Thursday, March 24. This event is hosted by the College’s Center for Women’s Intercultural Leadership (CWIL). The festival will feature four international films over the course of the week. All showings will be at 7 p.m. in the Vander Vennet Theatre in the Student Center. Admission is free of charge and the event is open to the public.
